Significance of The Logo
The lettering MSSA is in white. The color white signifies the following criteria and the code of practice expected among scientists and the members of MSSA.
- Purity
- Truth
- Cleanliness
- Ethics
- Transparency
Science is represented by the white MSSA against a blue background. Blue symbolizes depth as the inky depths of the vast oceans below our feet, below which many mysteries remain undiscovered. From the depths of deep blue oceans, we stretch to the fringe of outer space above our heads. There, too lies many mysteries permeating throughout the immensity of the Universe. Many of these mysteries we too have little understanding. The blue represents a vast cosmic ocean that lies all undiscovered before mankind The bush in green is the Tree of knowledge . Knowledge has noboundary. Scientists are still very green and immature attempting to discover and solve the many of the diverging problems that plagues humankind. The technology and science we have today, albeit made many inroads into many areas to bring comfort to our lives, but have yet to override many other areas for which we have yet to grasp better knowledge We have yet to reach full maturity in our scientific knowledge, and this will remain green in many areas for a long time to come. The two orbits symbolize the energy science harvest. The first orbit represents the orbit of a single hydrogen atom. Science is the systematic study of matter and energy The behavior of every matter known to science, from medicine to engineering, depends on how these atoms and the molecules behave around their orbits. Behavior of matter derives its energy from the pathways and interactions among the atoms, and around one another. The energy whatever the source is symbolizes in red as in fire. Hydrogen is the most abundant of all matter permeating the entire universe. It is this element from which all the other elements are derived through hydrogen fusion and nucleo-synthesis in the Sun, stars and galaxies. Between these two extremes, the infinitesimally small electron, or sub-atomic particles, to the horrendously huge cosmos, knowledge transcends and crosses all the disciplines of sciences, from astronomy and astrophysics to microbiology and molecular medicine. The orbital path of the infinitesimally small particles, to the grotesquely immense galaxies, stars and the planets round one another, symbolizes the pathways of God's Creation for Mankind and for Science. |
